The League of Arab States Organized Panel Discussion Titled: “Education and Sustainability: Building a New Generation Through Education and Technology to Compete in the Future”

The League of Arab States organized a distinguished panel discussion titled “Education and Sustainability: Building a New Generation Through Education and Technology to Compete in the Future,” bringing together a group of experts, educational leaders, and development specialists to explore the role of education in shaping generations capable of innovation and meaningful participation in a more sustainable future.

The session was moderated by H.E. Ambassador Nada El Agizy, Director of Sustainable Development and International Cooperation at the League of Arab States, who emphasized in her opening remarks the importance of integrating sustainability principles, technology, and social inclusion within educational systems across the region.

The panel featured the participation of:
– Mona Ayoub, Advisor to the Minister of Education for the 100 Egyptian German Schools Initiative
– May Waly, Middle School Principal, Green Land Pré Vert International School (GPIS)
– Sarah Ibrahim, Chief Officer: Corporate Governance & Corporate Responsibility – Secretary of the Board, Attijariwafa Bank Egypt
– Doaa Abonaem, Project Officer, UNESCO Cairo Office
– Sophia Helal, Advocate for Climate Action & Youth Empowerment

The discussion highlighted the importance of education as a fundamental pillar for empowering future generations, and its role in preparing youth for the future through the integration of technology and the enhancement of innovation skills. Participants also addressed the challenges facing education in the Arab world, the need to strengthen international cooperation to ensure fair and inclusive access for all, and the importance of adopting innovative financing mechanisms such as public-private partnerships. The session further emphasized the alignment of educational efforts with the Sustainable Development Goals, while showcasing inspiring women-led initiatives that have contributed to advancing education and empowering children and youth.

The session concluded by reaffirming the commitment of the League of Arab States to supporting sustainable development through strengthened educational systems, expanded regional cooperation, and leveraging technology as a key tool to enhance the competitiveness of future generations.
